Travel with The Wondering Dreamer

Vietnam 2016

Do you want a trip of a lifetime?

I am going on an incredible trip to Vietnam in May 2019 and would LOVE for you to join me!

I first travelled to Vietnam alone in 2015, however met lot’s of backpackers along the way. The Wondering Dreamer hadn’t been be born then and the bug of travelling had only just begun (still with me 3 years later)! I travelled to vietnam with a busted up phone and no camera, so as you can imagine, didn’t get much photographic content other than memories!

I found this country beyond magical, the food, colours and people are amazing and has without doubt firmly stayed one of my favourite countries in the world and I cannot wait to go back - this time with a camera!!

Whether you’re an avid traveler or new to the travel scene, the thought of going anywhere slightly out of the comfort zone can be daunting. This is why myself and Trova Trip have carefully curated and designed a package which will be fun, safe and supportive.

This trip is suited for a any travel enthusiast - whether you’re a couple wanting a holiday, budding photographer, solo traveler, group of friends or even an aspiring travel blogger - there is an adventure to be had, and it’s with me. You’ll have your own walking, talking ‘slightly humorous’ Instagrammer travel guide.!

Vietnam is a large country and as we’ve only got 8 days, we’ve narrowed it down to three of my favourite places I want to share with you!

Hanoi - The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. We’ll visit Hanoi’s oldest Pagoda and embark on multiple adventures in and around city.

Ha Long Bay - Hạ Long Bay, in northeast Vietnam, is known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. We’ll board a ship for an overnight exploration of the majestic bay with Tai chi in the morning.

Hoi An - Hoi An is a city on Vietnam’s central coast known for its well-preserved Ancient Town, cut through with canals. There will be plenty to explore as we continue the adventure at our final stop for 3 nights.

Ha Long Bay

Here is one of my very FIRST Instagram posts at Ha Long Bay in 2015! We’ll get much better photos this time round, I can ASSURE you, ha! It’s amazing how much I have changed and grown through the last three years.

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1 -  Welcome to Vietnam!

Welcome to Vietnam! You will be greeted by your local guide upon arrival in Hanoi, a thousand years old capital of Vietnam. With its emphasis on the arts of a metropolitan, local law stipulates that buildings in Hanoi remain small, simple and in harmony with nature.

We’ll get you checked in to your hotel and our local expert guide will take you out for an orientation walk ending by a cheerful local beer corner called “Bia Hoi” where you can sit and enjoy beer like locals

DAY 2 - Pagoda Visit & Food Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, our private coach & guide will pick up you to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda. It is the oldest of its kind in Hanoi, dating back to the 6th century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De Dynasty (544 - 548). We’ll head back to the city for a short visit to the Temple of Literature and then will start our Food on Foot tour to explore Northern Vietnam cuisines. You’ll get a taste for some of Hanoi’s best food stalls and restaurants, as we wander the Old quarter "36 streets".

DAY 3 - Dancing Caves & Epic Mountains

We’ll have breakfast at the hotel then head to the Ninh Binh province, about 100km from Hanoi. We’ll first stop at Hang Mua cave - Hang Mua means “dancing cave” because this site was previously considered as the place where the Tran king used to come to enjoy dancing & singing shows. Hang Mua is constructed following the model of the “Great Wall” in China with nearly 500 steps up to the top. The trek is a little tricky.

up with many of its uneven limestone steps (especially at the top point), but worth your conquering efforts for impressive panoramic view of Tam Coc, Trang An & Ninh Binh city when you reach the top point of Ngoa Long mountain. Don’t want to hike it? No problem, continue exploring below!

We’ll then head to Van Long Nature Reserve where you’ll board a bamboo rowboat and row along the beautiful wetland of Van Long with its spectacular scenery surrounded by rice paddies and towering limestone mountain peaks.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll take a biking trip through the hamlets before heading back to Hanoi for a free evening to do what you want.

Day 4 - Ha Long Bay Overnight Cruise

Time to check out of the hotel and head to Ha Long Bay! We’ll board our ship at noon and then enjoy lunch on board while cruising to the magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay and admiring the fascinating formations on the way.

They’ll be plenty to do in the afternoon, whether you want to swim, kayak or just relax on a white sandy beach at a nearby island. We’ll be spending the night aboard the ship, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent Ha Long Bay.

Day 5 - Off to Hoi An!

After an optional morning Tai chi exercise on the sun deck, we will have a light breakfast with a cup of tea or coffee. We’ll explore the Vung Vieng fishing village before disembarking around noon. We’ll transfer to the airport to catch our domestic flight to Da Nang airport and Hoi An.

Upon arrival in Da Nang airport, our driver will pick us up and transfer us to our hotel in Hoi An to get settled.

Day 6 - Biking Tour and Noodle-Making

After breakfast, we’ll grab a ferry to Cam Kim island, a neighboring village with Hoi An and take a bike tour of the area. We’ll pass luscious green fields with stopovers to visit and interact with locals who produce sleeping mats and rice wines. We will end the cycling with a noodle-making class where you’ll make your own lunch. We’ll head back to hotel in the afternoon where you’ll have the afternoon free!

Day 7 - Explore Hoi An & Closing Dinner

It’s our last day in Hoi An, and you’ll have the whole day to explore on your own with new friends from the trip. We’ll gather for a closing dinner to cheers the incredible trip and time together.

Day 8 - End of Trip

End of Trip! We’re sad to see you go, but happy to have had the chance to meet and explore with you. We’ll provide airport transfers to Da Nang Airport for your flight out.
