Lavertezzo, is an incredible canyon which spreads through a little village called Canton Ticino. This bizarrely formed river with emerald crystal waters, was covered with smoothly polished (very slippery) rocks, numerous little waterfalls and bridges. The narrow valley has many rock pools around - where locals and tourists are there to bathe and jump off bridges into the FREEZING water.
Visiting Lavertezzo was an absolute highlight to our trip! Although the water was glacier cold, I highly recommend jumping in! It'll quite literally, take your breathe away!
We hung out in Lavertezzo for a couple of hours, and then headed to Lake Como in Italy, which was a 2h30 minute drive.
